Organized as part of the European REACH project, the international workshop-festival Improtech is dedicated to the alliance of the universal art of improvisation and digital intelligence cultures through a series of conferences, interdisciplinary workshops, installations, performances, and concerts. After spanning three continents and gathering major figures in the field, Improtech is setting up at Ircam, one of its founders, for an edition that will focus heavily on space and writing and pay tribute to the American composer George Lewis, an essential reference in musical AI.

For three days, a series of practical presentations, workshops, and performances will be offered to the public by leading figures, researchers, and artists, all explorers of the exchange between digital intelligence and human expertise in the fields of electronic instrument making, interaction and immersive spatialization devices, gestural control, hacking, social networks, haptic interfaces, digital ritualization processes of tradition, audiomusical generativity, and creative AI in general.

Improtech @ Paris 2025 also includes three concerts: on December 2nd, December 3rd, and December 7th
