Introduction to the A2A Protocol

A2A (Agent-to-Agent) is an open protocol designed to standardize communication and collaboration between AI agents, regardless of their frameworks, providers, or hosting environments.

Complementing MCP — which standardizes agent access to tools and APIs — A2A serves as an interoperability layer between agents, enabling distributed orchestration at scale.

Use Cases and Examples

A2A enables the construction of modular multi-agent systems: an orchestrator agent delegates subtasks to specialized agents (search, execution, monitoring, compliance, etc.), aggregates their outputs, and ensures traceable execution.

Use cases include complex pipelines, process automation, and inter-team / inter-organization cooperation.

Compatibility and Interoperability with Existing Protocols

A2A focuses on agent-to-agent coordination without relying on a proprietary ecosystem. The combination of MCP (tools) + A2A (collaboration) provides a standardized foundation for portable, modular, and scalable agentic architectures.

As part of this experience sharing session, Laurent Veyssier, freelance AI engineer and member of the Datacraft club, will present the A2A protocol, its use cases, and integration examples.

Seats are limited for the in-person event — make sure to register soon! Priority will be given to Datacraft club members.
