Expert Roundtable on Capacity Building for Competent Authorities on AI, which will take place on 28 May 2025 at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris.

The roundtable will address strategic questions related to the organisation and resourcing of competent authorities, the design of coordination mechanisms across regulatory domains, and the development of innovative oversight tools.

This roundtable is conceived not as a sequence of conventional panel discussions, but as a collaborative forum for peer exchanges. Each session will open with brief inputs by selected panellists to frame core themes, after which the conversation will be opened to all participants in a moderated, inclusive format.  

This roundtable is organised within the framework of the broader initiative Supervising AI by Competent Authorities, a collaborative project by UNESCO and the Dutch Authority for Digital Infrastructure (RDI), financed by the European Commission.
