Pierre Marion, PhD student at SCAI (Sorbonne University, at the LPSM) with Gérard Biau, was awarded a Google PhD Fellowship for the upcoming year. His application was endorsed by the Fondation des Sciences Mathématiques de Paris.

The Fellowship was awarded to approximately 60 PhD students worldwide in computer science and related fields. See here for more information on the Google PhD Fellowship program and the list of the 2022 fellows.

The grant has already allowed him to participate in a one-month program on deep learning theory last summer at the Simons Institute for the Theory of Computing at UC Berkeley, organized by Peter Bartlett, Misha Belkin, Nati Srebro and Bin Yu.
