Mission:
This position is part of the PEPR ATLASea program, which aims to sample, sequence, and analyze the genomes of 4,500 marine species from the French coastline, with extensive coverage of mainland species and inclusion of species from overseas territories.
The role is associated with the targeted project WHEEL-Sea, which coordinates the overall program and includes a training component.
As part of the ATLASea program, we aim to produce digital educational content related to the various aspects of the project, to serve as complementary training material for a range of audiences.
The digital content will primarily target Master's and PhD students conducting internships or thesis research in the fields of marine genomics, biodiversity, and marine sciences, who are seeking to acquire knowledge either about the steps involved in obtaining eukaryotic marine genomes or about how these genomes can be used to address different scientific questions. We have identified two main student profiles:
(1) students with a background in biodiversity, ecology, and marine biology who wish to understand how genomes are obtained and their relevance;
(2) students with a background in molecular biology, genomics, and/or bioinformatics who wish to better understand the upstream processes leading to genomic sequence analysis and the usefulness of reference genomes.
The recruited person will be responsible for developing the training plan in collaboration with instructors and project leads, in alignment with the educational objectives; participating in the creation of content scenarios; and supervising the production of the digital materials and their integration into a dedicated online platform.
