Each year, SCAI opens its doors to Master's students, offering them a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of AI research. This year, four talented students joined us, working closely with researchers on projects with real-world impact.
Our 2024 interns include:
- Alicia (M1, Université Paris-Saclay) – Alicia's project focuses on AI applications in ecology, specifically using YOLO for pollinator/flower interaction analysis. Her work, conducted in collaboration with iEES, is helping us better understand and protect biodiversity.
- Emilio (M2, Sorbonne Université) – Emilio worked on classifying endometriosis-related pathologies using ultrasound scans, collaborating with radiologist Martine Valière. His work contributes to improving diagnosis processes and patient outcomes.
- Olena (M2, Sorbonne Université) – Olena focused on detecting shapes associated with endometriosis in ultrasound scans, also in partnership with Martine Valière. Her project supports advances in medical imaging and diagnostic accuracy.
- Benoit (M2, Università di Bologna) – Benoit tackled the crucial task of genomic data anonymization, working alongside IHU-ICAN. His project supports ethical data handling in healthcare, ensuring privacy in the age of big data.
These students met and often exceeded our expectations and our colleagues and partners, who co-supervised these internships, have expressed satisfaction with the collaborations, and we look forward to continuing these partnerships to welcome more talented interns next year.
