The University of Technology of Compiègne (UTC) magazine, Interactions, is publishing a feature on artificial intelligence (AI).

Artificial intelligence has become indispensable across numerous sectors, including health, finance, transportation and logistics, and industry. It provides innovative solutions to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and optimize processes. At UTC, several projects are underway to develop AI tools, both in partnership with external collaborators—such as the Sorbonne University Alliance through the AI-Cluster PostGenAI@Paris, now known as SCAI—and within the university’s own laboratories. Some initiatives focus on advancing AI models themselves, as seen with the LMAC and the CID team at Heudiasyc, while others explore specific applications linked to their research projects. However, despite its transformative potential, AI also poses risks of errors that are unacceptable in many critical domains. This underscores the importance of the European Union’s adoption of the European AI Act to regulate its use.
