Call for participation to the Franco-Moroccan Research Center Summer School

Sustainable AI for Resource-Constrained Healthcare

Context:

The new Franco-Moroccan Research Center Summer School offers immersive, interdisciplinary training for students and researchers from France and Morocco. The theme for 2025 is Sustainable AI for Resource-Constrained Healthcare.

From personalized medicine to intelligent diagnostics, robotic assistance, and ethical AI governance, artificial intelligence is transforming healthcare. AI enables the analysis of large datasets to support medical decision-making, improve patient outcomes, and optimize healthcare systems.

This summer school aims to explore the scientific and technological advances shaping the future of AI-driven healthcare, with particular attention to resource-constrained environments. It will also foster dialogue between experts in AI, medicine, and ethics.

As part of a strategic partnership between French and Moroccan research institutions, the event offers participants a unique opportunity to gain insights into cutting-edge AI tools and methods for addressing healthcare challenges—while expanding their international networks.

Applications

The subject of your master or PhD thesis must be related to the school's themes. A minimum level of skills is required in Python programming and machine learning. An interest in AI applied to health will be a plus. 

Applications will be examined by the scientific committee, each including a cover letter demonstrating the link between the subject of the thesis and the school's theme, a brief CV and the approval of the thesis director. Application should be submitted to mohamed.chetouani@sorbonne-universite.fr

Deadline for receipt of applications: May 19th, 2025  

Decision notification by the Scientific Committee: May 26th, 2025 

Registration deadline: June 2th, 2025

Summer school: 7-11 July 2025

Participation costs: 

The free registration gives access to all summer school activities (tutorials, keynotes, roundtable…) and includes coffee breaks, lunches and social events. However, accommodation is not included.
