Doctoral Programs in Scientific Policy
The Science Policy programs facilitate the recruitment of PhD candidates aligned with the scientific priorities of the Sorbonne University Alliance.
The Science Policy doctoral programs aim to strengthen Sorbonne University's international partnerships through joint PhDs (cotutelles) or co-supervisions, and to amplify the scientific voice of the Sorbonne University Alliance with and for civil society within the framework of the SOUND project. The call for projects (for project leaders) and the call for applications follow a common timeline.
Timeline
Phase One: Call for Projects
- January 12 to February 20, 2026: Submission of projects on LimeSurvey by project leaders.
- February 27, 2026: The Doctoral College makes the submitted projects available to program heads and Doctoral Schools via DropSU.
- March 11, 2026: Doctoral Schools provide their final review of the submitted projects and send them to the Doctoral College to be forwarded to program heads.
- March 16, 2026: Doctoral Schools provide their final review of the submitted projects and send them to the Doctoral College to be forwarded to program heads.*
- March 25, 2026: Selected projects are published on the Doctoral College website.
Phase Two: Call for Applications
The Institutes and Initiatives form a selection committee (jury) whose members are chosen for their scientific expertise related to the selected projects. Representatives from the relevant doctoral schools are also invited to participate in the candidate interviews.
Phase Two Timeline
- March 25 to April 24, 2026: Application submission period on the dedicated website (LimeSurvey).
- May 6, 2026: The Doctoral College provides the application files to the program heads via DropSU.
- May 6 to May 26, 2026: Institutes and Initiatives send the candidate shortlists to the Doctoral College for information. Candidate interviews are conducted by the doctoral program heads.
- May 28, 2026: Program heads send the interview results (list of successful candidates) to the Doctoral College, which will be responsible for posting them online.
Guidelines
Each project must be submitted under the corresponding call and cannot be submitted to multiple calls. Specific procedures for each call are available in the respective tabs. In 2025, three calls for projects were launched.
