Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi invites applications for outstanding candidates for two five-year academic position (Chair of Excellence), open to candidates with a strong background in the field of Artificial Intelligence, Data Science and Deep Learning, and an experience of applied research projects.

Qualifications: PhD in Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Science/Machine Learning, or related areas. Excellent academic background and recognized experience in research fields above mentioned. Demonstrated international recognition in his/her own research field. Teaching experience.
Grade: Rank is at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor commensurate with experience.
Position n°1:
The successful candidate will lead the research partnership between Total and SCAI in the general field of Machine Learning for complex physical phenomena, with applications in short and long-term forecasts of hydrocarbons production. This covers many potential research directions and the profile is largely open. He/she will have the responsibility to lead the chair of excellence and to coordinate
a multidisciplinary team (2 PhD will be hired), in close connection with the Department of Computer Science at Sorbonne University (Paris, France).

Position n°2:
This position is open in the context of a Chair of Excellence between Thales and Sorbonne University. The applicant has to show an experience of applied research projects in the field of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Cognition, Autonomous Agents and Multi-Agent Systems. The research partnership between Thales and SCAI is related to the general field of Hybrid Artificial
Intelligence (smart combination of stochastic and symbolic approaches with applications in collaborative radar design tools). The Knowledge of digital twins and sensor systems (in particular radars) would be an added value.
