On January 28, at the Pierre and Marie Curie campus, Sorbonne University hosted the seminar "Artificial Intelligence and Data Protection," organized as part of European Data Protection Day.
The morning was marked by high-quality presentations and rich discussions surrounding topics at the heart of current transformations:
Concrete feedback from teacher-researchers and administrative staff on various use cases.
This seminar showed that much is already in motion: practices are becoming structured, frameworks are taking shape, and usage is being clarified. However, it also highlighted the challenges ahead: supporting stakeholders, securing usage, balancing innovation, compliance, and meaning, and above all, continuing to collectively build responses adapted to ground realities.
A big thank you to Sophie Schaeffert, Data Protection Officer (DPO) and member of the CER, for the invitation extended to SCAI and and Marco Salazar.
AI is moving fast. Frameworks are too. The challenge now is to continue moving forward together in a responsible, informed, and sovereign manner.
