As artificial intelligence (AI) evolves at a breakneck pace, the AI Commission publishes a report containing 25 recommendations so that France can take advantage of this technological revolution and seize all the opportunities.
The Artificial Intelligence Commission submitted to the President of the Republic, on March 13, 2024, a report containing 25 recommendations to make France a major player in the technological revolution of artificial intelligence (AI).
This commission is co-chaired by Anne Bouverot, president of the board of directors of the ENS and Philippe Aghion, professor at the Collège de France and economist.
7 priority recommendations
The Commission makes 25 recommendations for public authorities, including 7 priorities if France wants to lead a dynamic of collective appropriation and deployment of the full potential of AI in Europe:
- Create the conditions for collective ownership of AI and its challenges by launching a national awareness and training plan.
- Invest massively in digital companies and business transformation to support the French AI ecosystem and make it one of the first in the world.
- Make France and Europe a major center of computing power, in the short and medium term.
- Transform our approach to personal data to continue to protect while facilitating innovation to meet our needs.
- Ensure the influence of French culture by allowing access to cultural content while respecting intellectual property rights.
- Assume the principle of experimentation in public research in AI to strengthen its attractiveness.
- Structuring a coherent and concrete diplomatic initiative aimed at establishing global AI governance.
