From November 26 to 28, 2021, as part of the Festives de Sorbonne Université, Scai has launched its CREATE.AI project: a reflection on the future of art-science mediation from the perspective of artificial intelligence. Artists (from various disciplines such as music, voice, dance, photography, design or theater) and scientists - specialists in artificial intelligence - met either to give birth to new projects, or to continue and enrich the reflection and/or the implementation of a project already initiated.
Agathe Rosa, visual artist, is one of them.

We are part of a whole. And the cycle of the stars influences the tides as well as the pulsation of the oaks, our movement in space or the flight of the birds. And the plant communicates with its fellows as much as we do about the sun. So of course, we have neither the same form or the same language. But whatever, the symphony of the world is played around us and we are an integral part of it.
Each form comes from the of the other and is equivalent to it. Each one exists on the same level. They have what others share, but in different ways. Some men have crossed the limits of their own species by developing attitudes and languages to communicate with plants and animals, the earth, the wind or water. Other have focused on creating techniques and machines to understand them. Non-human beings can be interlocutors and it is by broadening our semantics that we can be able to enter into resonance with our environment, and to welcome what connects us.
The project I propose is to weave a sensitive and intimate link with our milieu by opening up to the rhythms of what inhabits it.
Plants, as living beings, shaping the ecosystem in which they live. Their constant structure and interactions create a symphony of vibrations characteristic of the surround in which they are.
My intention is to make visible the interaction between a human-being, a plant and its environment through a luminous projection whose form, intensity and color would depend on the very characteristics of this relationship. Artificial intelligence would make it possible to convert - among other things - the biorhythms of a plant and to generate in real time a luminous artwork fluid, moving and metamorphic: alive.

Nous sommes partie d'un tout. Et le cycle des astres influencent les marées autant que la pulsation des chênes, nos émotions ou le vol des oiseaux. Et la plante communique avec ses semblables autant que nous à propos du soleil. Alors certes, nous n'avons ni la même forme ni le même langage. Mais qu'importe, la symphonie du monde se joue tout autour de nous et nous en faisons intégralement partie.
Toute forme vient de l'autre et y est équivalente. Chacune d'elle existe sur le même plan. Elles ont ce que les autres ont en partage, mais sur des modes différents. Certains hommes ont franchi les limites de leur propre espèce en développant des attitudes et des langages pour communiquer avec les plantes et les animaux, la Terre, le Ciel ou l'eau. D'autres se sont attachés à créer des techniques et des machines pour les comprendre. Les êtres non-humains peuvent être des interlocuteurs et c'est en élargissant notre sémantique que nous pourrons être à même d'entrer en résonance avec notre territoire, et d'accueillir ce qui nous relie.
Le projet que je propose est de tisser un lien sensible et intime avec notre milieu en s'ouvrant aux rythmes de ce qui l'habite.
Les plantes, en tant qu'être vivant, façonnent l'écosystème dans lequel elles vivent. Leur structure et leurs interactions constantes créent une symphonie de vibrations spécifique du milieu dans lequel elles se trouvent. Mon intention est de rendre visible les échanges entre l'être humain, la plante et son environnement par le biais d'une projection lumineuse dont la forme, intensité et couleur dépendrait des caractéristiques mêmes de cette interaction. L'intelligence artificielle permettrait ici de convertir - entre autres - les biorythmes d'une plante et de générer en temps réel une œuvre lumineuse fluide, mouvante et métamorphique : vivante.
