The French Association for Artificial Intelligence (AFIA) is organizing its 11th Perspectives and Challenges of AI (PDIA) Day on the theme "Disinformation, Democracy, and Artificial Intelligence."

The event will feature six invited talks in the fields of computer science, mathematics, and law, as well as four short presentations by PhD students.

This event is organized by Srdjan Vesic (CRIL, University of Artois), Fatiha Saïs (LISN, University of Paris-Saclay), Cédric du Mouza (CEDRIC, CNAM Paris), and Nada Mimouni (CEDRIC, CNAM Paris).

Program

 Morning:

  • Ioana Manolescu: Knowledge is Power: Fighting Disinformation with Data and AI
  • David Chavalarias : If generative AI becomes the mirror, we will end as Narcisse
  • Juliette Sénéchal : AI Models with Systemic Risks—Manipulation and Disinformation: A Concept at the Crossroads of the AI Act, GDPR, and Digital Services Act

Afternoon:

  • Bruno Yun : Argumentation Perspectives for Better Debates
  • Jérôme Lang : Computational Social Choice and Democracy
  • Elia Verdun : Between surveillance and sousveillance: what balance in a democracy?

Registration

Registration for the event is mandatory. For logistical reasons (catering), it is highly recommended to register before June 3, 2025.
The event will take place in person at CNAM Paris, allowing attendees to benefit from direct interactions, coffee breaks, and lunch.
