PostGenAI @Paris
PostGenAI @Paris
The project
Consortium
The PostGenAI@Paris cluster brings together academic institutions with complementary expertise, ranging from mathematics and computer science to engineering, healthcare, law, and political science. The consortium further benefits from the support of over 60 industrial partners (including startups, SMEs, and large corporations), who have committed more than €32 million in funding.
By capitalising on the experience and success of the Sorbonne Center for Artificial Intelligence (SCAI)—established by the Sorbonne University Alliance in 2019—the PostGenAI@Paris cluster now federates institutions such as Sciences Po, Paris-Panthéon-Assas University, CNAM, the Court of Cassation, and the Economic, Social and Environmental Council.
Scientific Positioning
The PostGenAI@Paris project aims to address the challenges posed by the most recent advances in AI, which are leading us into a world where the boundaries between technology and human intelligence are becoming increasingly blurred. This new era of "post-generative AI" brings scientific and technological progress, but also raises profound concerns and questions regarding trust, regulation, and ethics.
To meet these challenges, PostGenAI@Paris leverages the consortium’s complementary strengths across three main domains:
-
Generative AI and Breakthrough Technologies
-
Health and a Desirable Future
-
Resilient Society and Education
Ambition
PostGenAI@Paris aims to contribute to the French national AI strategy by establishing a global hub dedicated to post-generative AI. This hub is structured around a common strategy among partners regarding research, training, and innovation, guided by a constant commitment to ensuring its long-term sustainability and influence beyond the initial funding period.
Roadmap
The implementation of the scientific programme is based on two main pillars:
-
Pillar 1: Collaborative Acceleration Programmes (PACs) The first pillar consists of 21 Collaborative Acceleration Programmes (PACs), which closely integrate research, training, and innovation. Each PAC is led by a duo composed of a junior and a senior researcher. These programmes involve academic teams, industrial partners, and, where applicable, socio-economic stakeholders. As the cornerstones of the cluster, PACs are directly involved in developing training through research while promoting international collaboration via the systematic participation of visiting professors.
-
Pillar 2: Transversal Programme The second pillar is built around a Transversal Programme designed to encourage interconnection between consortium members and ensure the cluster’s agility and evolution throughout the project’s duration.
By 2030, PostGenAI@Paris seeks to establish itself as an international centre of excellence, supported by cross-disciplinary expertise in AI and a robust network of socio-economic collaborations. Through these actions, the cluster participates in training future generations by significantly increasing the number of students trained in AI every year at all levels
Collaborative Acceleration Programs
The scientific roadmap of PostGenAI@Paris is anchored by 21 Collaborative Acceleration Programmes (PACs), which serve as the cornerstones of the cluster by closely integrating research, training, and innovation across the domains of breakthrough technologies, health, and societal resilience.
By federating academic teams, over 60 industrial partners, and international visiting professors, these programmes aim to establish a global hub for post-generative AI that will train future generations and ensure the cluster’s long-term international influence.
Industrial partners
he cluster is supported by a robust network of over 60 industrial partners, including startups, SMEs, and large corporations, who have committed more than €32 million in funding to drive the project's innovation and research roadmap. These collaborations are essential to the cluster's mission of bridging the gap between breakthrough AI technologies and their practical application in the socio-economic sphere.
Executive committee
The Governance of PostGenAI@Paris establishes the strategic vision and scientific oversight necessary to guide the cluster’s roadmap in research, training, and innovation
Management team
The Management Team provides the operational leadership for the cluster, ensuring the day-to-day coordination of project management, communication, and technical development across all initiatives
