Abstract: Fuzzy orthopartitions are generalizations of standard fuzzy partitions useful to model situations where both vagueness and uncertainty are involved. We intend to focus on the so-called lower and upper entropies, which subsume the concept of entropy in partition logic and measure the quantity of information contained in a fuzzy orthopartition. We mainly show some basic properties that characterize lower and upper entropies and highlight the connections between such entropy measures and novel operations and orderings on fuzzy orthopartitions.
Bio: Stefania Boffa is a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Milano-Bicocca (Department of Informatics, Systems and Communication), Italy.
