The Geography & Spatial Planning Club and the Data & AI Club are pleased to invite you to a conference:
“Producing and transforming geographic data to shape our representations of the contemporary world”
Geographic data underpins a wide range of outputs that are omnipresent in our daily lives: maps, data visualizations, spatial planning policies, political decision-making…
Where does this data come from? What stages of transformation does it undergo in a rapidly evolving technical environment? In what formats is it shared with the public, and above all, how can it be used to better understand the world we live in?
This round table brings together stakeholders who produce geographic data and those who transform it. At the intersection of technical challenges (the AI revolution), political concerns (data sovereignty, governance, decision-making…), and social issues (the digital divide, “missing” data…), geospatial professions operate within a professional ecosystem undergoing profound transformation. All contribute toward a shared objective: improving the representation of the phenomena that shape our world.
The discussion will be followed by a convivial networking moment.
