SOphIA, Sorbonne Université's Artificial Intelligence Association, invites you to a round-table discussion for the three faculties of Sorbonne Université, which will look at artificial intelligence and its use in various creative fields.

This event is organized in partnership with the Direction de l'Orientation, des Stages et de l'Orientation Professionnelle (DOSIP) of Sorbonne Université's Faculty of Arts, and supported by the Sorbonne Center for Artificial Intelligence (SCAI).

A variety of generative artificial intelligence tools have been available to the general public for some years now.

These tools and the discourse surrounding them, as well as the objects they produce (text, still or moving images, music, etc.), have also gained in popularity and impact.

This round-table discussion will focus on a variety of creative activities, and will bring together a range of viewpoints that are not simply technical, but more broadly concerned with this issue.

Speakers:

  • Kaspar Ravel, artist and media critic, currently in residence at Sorbonne University for a third and final year, the themes of the first two years of his residency having been images and nuclear power respectively;
  • Sarah Nabi, researcher at the Laboratoire des sciences et technologies de la musique et du son (LSTMS; IRCAM/SU), on the links between gesture, music and artificial intelligence;
  • Philippe Esling, also a researcher at the Laboratoire des Sciences et Technologies de la Musique et du Son (LSTMS; IRCAM/SU), on computer-assisted music creation;
  • Ivan Gaudé, journalist and CELSA graduate, director of Le Pavé Numérique and Canard PC magazine, on the links between artificial intelligence and journalistic practice on the one hand, and the video game industry on the other.

This round-table discussion is public and free.
