Call for Applications: 4EU+ Visiting Professors 2026

Date
6 Jul 2026

Are you a tenured academic looking to bring a European dimension to your research and teaching? The 4EU+ Alliance has officially launched its 2026 Visiting Professors call for applications.

This program offers tenured academic staff the opportunity to undertake a funded stay lasting from 3 weeks to 1.5 months at a partner university to carry out a collaborative research and/or training project.

By facilitating the mobility of faculty members, the initiative drives the circulation of knowledge and skills across Europe, strengthening European integration in research, education, and academic training.

Two Funding Tracks Tailored to Your Profile

In line with the 4EU+ strategic vision, the 2026 edition offers two distinct funding tracks:

  • Early Career Visiting Professorships: Specifically dedicated to early-career researchers who obtained their PhD between 2 and 10 years prior to the start of the project (January 2027).

  • Standard Visiting Professorships: Open to the entire tenured academic community, regardless of career stage.

 Key Information

💡 At a glance: The scheme is open to tenured academic staff and provides financial support via a lump-sum allowance to cover stay expenses.

  • Application Deadline: 13 October 2026, 16:00 CET.

  • Project Start Date: From January 2027 onwards.
