THE PROJECT

The goal?

The capsules are designed to introduce children aged 8 to 12 to various digital topics - subjects they have likely already encountered in their daily lives. The aim is to spark reflection and discussion among students, which can then continue at home, in order to:

  • analyze certain digital topics and form their own opinions,
  • share knowledge about the subject beyond common misconceptions,
  • be able to discuss it confidently.

E-Bou, the mascot of the videos, takes on the role of a guide, encouraging reflection and dialogue on a range of ethical, social, and environmental issues.

The educational activities aim to provide students with a solid foundation through more than a dozen topics, such as:

  • attachment to screens,
  • online data,
  • digital technology and the environment,
  • artificial intelligence, and more.

Who is it for?

For students from CM1 to 6th grade. The goal of the project is to make the capsules available in as many classrooms across France as possible, particularly in rural areas and Priority Education Zones (QPV).

What does a capsule include?

Each capsule comes with a set of resources, including an explanatory video for students, a glossary, a teacher’s guide, and suggested activities. The teacher’s guide allows instructors to quickly familiarize themselves with the topic covered and answer students’ questions. A session (video, discussion, activities) lasts approximately 1 hour. All materials are licensed under CC-BY-NC-SA.

PROJECT MEMBERS

To develop this project, the Blaise Pascal Foundation, supported by the HUMAAINE AI Chair, has assembled a team of researchers, teachers, and students affiliated with the Blaise Pascal Foundation and CNRS, mainly from the Interdisciplinary Laboratory for Digital Sciences (LISN).
