Overview the professional milestones, academic responsibilities, and international collaborations that drive our center’s double ambition to excel in both research and education.

Anouk Barberousse is a Professor in Philosophy of Science at Sorbonne Université. Her research is about scientific representations: models, theories, pictures of all sorts. She became interested in the philosophy of modeling by working on statistical mechanics and the interpretation of probability in physics. Then she turned to models of complex systems, especially climate models. She now works in the philosophy of scientific expertise, especially IPCC, and philosophy of technology, including artificial intelligence. She addresses the relationships between political decision and scientific expertise.

Anouk Barberousse began her carrier as a Junior Researcher at CNRS. In 2011, she became a Professor in History of Physics at Lille and joined Sorbonne Université in 2015, where she was the director of SND (Sciences, Normes, Démocratie, a research team devoted to the philosophy of science and political philosophy).

From September 2018 to August 2022, she has been Sorbonne Université Research Integrity Officer. This led her to work on the notion of ‘culture of research’ and various topics in the ethics of research.
